If you are a family practice patient of Dr Tan or Dr Roh, you can see our Registered Nurse for a variety of health concerns!

Our Registered Nurse can assess, provide treatment, education and follow-up for many common health concerns.

Depending on your concern, an RN appointment may be an alternative to seeing a physician.

*Please note: our RN can only see family practice patients tied to our clinic.

■ Sexual Health & STI Care

Our STI-certified Registered Nurse provides confidential and non-judgmental sexual health care.

• STI screening and testing

• Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of STIs, when appropriate

• Chlamydia and gonorrhea screening and treatment

• Genital warts: assessment, diagnosis and treatment

• Bacterial vaginosis (BV): assessment, testing, diagnosis and treatment

• Vaginal symptoms: assessment and appropriate vaginal testing for BV, yeast and other causes of vaginitis

• Yeast infection: assessment and appropriate vaginal testing; treatment advice and follow-up when indicated

• Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs): assessment, testing, diagnosis and treatment in appropriate sexually active adult females

• STI follow-up and education

• Partner notification and treatment support

• Safer-sex and sexual health counselling

• HIV, syphilis and other STI screening as appropriate

• Cervical cancer screening

All STI-related care is provided within the RN's scope of practice, BCCDC Certified Practice guidelines, clinical guidelines and available medical directives.

■ Other RN Services

• Hand and plantar wart treatment: assessment and liquid nitrogen treatment when appropriate

• Warts on other areas of the body: physician assessment is required before RN treatment

• Facial warts: not treated by the RN

• Ear flushing / earwax removal, when appropriate

• Lab review

• Lifestyle counselling and health education

• Suture and staple removal

• Wound assessment and management

• Blood pressure checks

• Immunizations

• Chronic disease management

• General health questions and concerns
